Schneider Canalis Bus Bar Installation

We were tasked with providing a solution to the problem of an ever-changing workplace where the client needed to be able to swap out machinery quickly and efficiently without disruption to other working lines. Our solution was to install a three phase, 250-amp busbar system above the main factory floor, which would allow machinery to be brought in, positioned and connected at a moment’s notice.

Achieving this involved our team of engineers to work out of hours so that the factory could keep producing product though the day and still hit targets.

We decided that a Schneider Canalis busbar system would be the most robust form that we could readily source parts for, that the client was familiar with, and overall, the safest solution. With the main busbar being mounted in the roof space, we were able to mount each of the new canalis 32A tap offs where required, Bring the new feeds down a new stainless dairy pipe and into the high care production area.

We did this several times with drops at frequent intervals on the process lines, meaning that all cabling could be easily contained. These drops were also made onto stainless steel framework so that they could carry water and CO2 piping, meaning that the client had every service they would need at an accessible height and appropriate isolation needed without disrupting other process lines.

By installing the power busbar solution, we have enabled the client to change how their production is set up, as now they are able to upgrade or interchange machinery with minimal disruption and downtime.
